Kim Jong Un vows full support for Russian war

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has reaffirmed his support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, promising to help Moscow achieve victory. He described the conflict as a “sacred war” during a meeting with high-level Russian officials.
Pyongyang has already sent missiles, munitions, and thousands of troops to assist the Russian military. In return, analysts suggest Moscow is providing financial aid, military technology, and food to the isolated nation.
Military ties deepen between Moscow and Pyongyang
Russian Defence Minister Andrey Belousov met with Kim on Sunday to discuss deeper military cooperation. Moscow reportedly plans to sign a formal cooperation agreement covering the period from 2027 to 2031.
The two sides also attended a memorial ceremony for North Korean soldiers killed in Ukraine. Kim paid tribute to their “noble sacrifice” and “indomitable fighting spirit” during the high-profile event.
Memorial honors North Korean troops in Russia
The inauguration of the memorial complex featured a concert, fireworks, and an air force flyover. State media reported that the audience was moved by portrayals of the life-and-death battles fought by the young soldiers.
While North Korea strengthens its ties with Russia, it continues to label South Korea as its most hostile adversary. This military alliance marks a significant shift in regional dynamics as the conflict in Ukraine persists.
