ADC chieftain predicts APC defeat in 2027 polls

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ladan Salihu, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government will buckle under the weight of Nigerians’ frustration. He made this assertion during an appearance on a popular television program, delivering a blunt verdict on the current administration.
Salihu argued that the government will fail the integrity and credibility test at the next general elections. He insisted that the level of anger across the country has reached a point where the ruling party can no longer measure up.
ADC demands removal of INEC chairman
The ADC chieftain also intensified his party’s push for the resignation or removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan. He accused the INEC boss of failing both competency and integrity tests, describing him as a “persona non grata” in public service.
Salihu added that the chairman has not presented himself as the impartial umpire that a nation of 250 million people deserves. He warned that the opposition would step up its campaign for the chairman’s exit if he refuses to resign voluntarily.
Opposition momentum grows despite APC dominance
Despite the APC’s control of the National Assembly and 31 states, Salihu insisted the ruling party is rattled by the opposition’s growing momentum. He claimed that while the government controls official institutions, it does not have the heart of the people.
He expressed confidence that the ADC would prevail in 2027 as the leading opposition movement. When asked about a potential election boycott, he stated that the party would make a constitutional decision when the time comes.
