Halima Abubakar seeks forgiveness from Apostle Johnson Suleman
On Wednesday, October 23, popular Nollywood actor Halima Abubakar publicly apologized to Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries for her earlier defamation.
Abubakar acknowledged her role in spreading falsehoods about Suleman, which she admitted caused him significant pain, particularly through social media channels.
The controversy began in 2022 when Abubakar fell seriously ill following a dispute with the clergyman. During her illness, her family took to social media to implore Suleman to maintain his distance from her. While many speculated that Abubakar was grappling with an autoimmune disease, she countered those claims by sharing her medical report.
In a heartfelt letter addressed to Suleman, Abubakar expressed her regret over the damage her allegations inflicted upon him and his family. She hopes her message can somewhat mend the wounds caused by her actions.
The letter states: “I admit that I made false allegations against you and also regret my action and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr. Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the leaders of the Omega Fire Ministry.
“With this letter, I humbly ask for forgiveness, recognizing that my apology cannot undo the harm, pain, and distress I caused. I ask you to find a place in your heart to forgive me as I was not thinking right then.
“I’m truly sorry for all the hurts and distress I caused you, your family, and ministry.”
