Ganduje reveals APC’s N8.9 billion debt burden at NEC meeting

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), revealed that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), under his leadership, has inherited a massive debt of N8.9 billion.

Ganduje made the disclosure during the ongoing National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the APC in Abuja. He explained that the debt arose from various expenses related to pre-election legal battles, election cases, and appeals for legislative, governorship, and presidential elections.

The total liabilities amount to N8,987,874,663, resulting from several legal engagements. However, Ganduje reassured party members that the APC’s National Legal Adviser, Prof. Abdul Kareem Kana (SAN), has been actively working to reduce the financial burden.

In his address, Ganduje also appealed to the National Executive Committee for help in managing the party’s debt.

The NEC meeting was attended by key party figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, state governors, NWC members, and other prominent APC leaders.
