Galatasaray president insists no one will force Osimhen to leave the club in January
Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has firmly stated that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will not be forced to leave the club in January despite transfer speculation.
Osimhen joined the Turkish powerhouse from Serie A club Napoli on loan in September 2024, with a clause in his contract that allows him to move to another club during the January transfer window.
The 25-year-old has been linked with a potential transfer to Manchester United, fueling rumors of an early exit. However, Özbek is confident that Osimhen will remain at Galatasaray for the remainder of the season.
“He is our player this season. There is a very difficult clause for him to leave at mid-season. According to our agreement, he will play for us until the end of the season,” Özbek told A Spor on Tuesday, December 4, 2024.
“No one should bend him. He will make his own decision at the end of the season. If he wants to continue at Galatasaray, he can.”
