FCT Minister Nyesom Wike calls former Ekiti governor Fayose his ‘younger brother’

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Thursday publicly referred to former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose as his “younger brother,” highlighting their close personal and political ties.
Wike made the remark during the flagging off ceremony for the construction of Collector Road CN2 (Emmanuel I. Ogala Street), which stretches from Arterial N16 (Yemi Osinbajo Way) to N20 (Wole Soyinka Way), including the ILS 5 road within Katampe District in Abuja.
“Fayose is my younger brother, and I’m always happy anytime he comes to witness what his elder brother is doing,” Wike said.
Both Wike and Fayose are prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and were part of the G-5 Integrity Group — a faction known for its internal party influence.
The G-5 group notably opposed the victory of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election, highlighting the political dynamics within the PDP.
