Ex-Obio-Akpor chairman urges Rivers assembly to resist Wike’s influence amid Fubara impeachment

Former Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, Chijioke Ihunwo, has called on members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resist any manipulation by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in the ongoing impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Ihunwo made the remarks on Saturday during an interview on Arise Television, stressing that Governor Fubara was elected by the people of Rivers State, not under Wike’s mandate.

He urged the Assembly to remain independent to maintain peace in the state, adding that the governor has done nothing to justify his removal. Ihunwo also called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene as the leader of the party.
