Ex-Man United manager Erik Ten Hag emerges as potential candidate to coach Bundesliga club

Former Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is reportedly being considered for the managerial position at RB Leipzig, according to Sky Germany. The Bundesliga club is contemplating a change in leadership if current manager Marco Rose’s poor run of form continues.

Leipzig have endured a difficult spell, losing five out of their last six matches across all competitions, including a heavy 5-1 defeat at home to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. Despite sitting in fourth place in the league table, Rose faces mounting pressure to turn the club’s fortunes around or risk losing his job.

The report also mentions that former Benfica manager Roger Schmidt, who left the Portuguese club in August, is another potential candidate for the role.

Ten Hag, who was dismissed as Manchester United manager in October 2024 after a disappointing start to his third season at Old Trafford, could be a strong contender. He was replaced by Ruben Amorim, who joined from Sporting Lisbon.
