Ekitike joins Liverpool, Freya Godfrey departs Arsenal for London City Lionesses
Liverpool have completed the signing of French forward Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent deal.
The 23-year-old has passed his medical and agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions. He is expected to link up with Arne Slot’s squad in Hong Kong later this week as part of the club’s pre-season tour of Asia.
Ekitike becomes Liverpool’s latest summer addition, following the arrivals of Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Florian Wirtz.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s Super League, Arsenal have confirmed the permanent departure of Freya Godfrey to London City Lionesses.
Godfrey, who joined the Gunners at age 12 in 2017 and came through their academy system, signed her first professional contract with the club in June 2023.
In a statement, Arsenal said: “Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Freya for her contribution to the club and we wish her every success for this next chapter in her career.”
