EFCC invites ex-AGF Abubakar Malami

Former Attorney General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has confirmed that he has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, pledging to honour the summons.
Mr Malami announced this in a post on his Facebook page on Friday, stating that as a law-abiding citizen, he remains committed to the principles of transparency and accountability in public service.
report that the former minister recently declared his intention to contest the Kebbi governorship seat under the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Recall that in September, the State Security Service, SSS, also summoned Mr Malami over alleged attacks on his convoy in Birnin Kebbi.
Confirming the EFCC invitation, Mr Malami wrote: “This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC.
“As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation.
“I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service — the principles that I both advocate and champion.
“Rooted in public service and in the spirit of transparency and accountability, I am committed to sharing with the Nigerian public the developments as they unfold.”
It is yet unclear what the EFCC intends to question him about, but his readiness to publicly disclose future developments suggests he may be preparing for intense public scrutiny amid his governorship ambition.
