Davido clears the air after video of him being hit sparks online outrage
Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido has finally addressed the viral video showing him getting hit in the head, putting an end to fears that he was attacked.
The incident happened after his performance at a wedding in Warri, Delta State. After the event, Davido stopped by a popular nightclub in Warri where the clip was recorded.
In the video, a man from the crowd appears to slap Davido on the head as he’s leaving the club, causing fans to worry it was an assault.
However, Davido took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify what really happened. He revealed it was actually one of his security guards who accidentally hit him while trying to protect him from an overenthusiastic fan.
“That was my security. Hit me by mistake,” he wrote, dismissing all rumors of an attack.
