Daddy Showkey reveals Pasuma fed his family for three years after 2007 accident
Veteran Nigerian singer, Daddy Showkey, has revealed that Fuji star Alabi Pasuma took care of his family for three years while he was recovering from a life-threatening accident.
Speaking during a recent live performance at a celebrity event — where Pasuma joined him on stage — Daddy Showkey recounted how the Fuji musician stood by him during one of the darkest periods of his life.
In a viral video shared on social media, Daddy Showkey explained that the accident, which occurred in 2007, left him hospitalised for three years. During that time, Pasuma stepped in to provide for his family when others turned their backs.
“You see this man, he stood by me during bad times and good times,” he said, pointing to Pasuma. “Many people didn’t see me in public or hear me sing for years because I had an accident in 2007. I was in the hospital for three years. Pasuma was the one taking care of my family. I can never forget him.”
Describing Pasuma as his only true friend in the music industry, Daddy Showkey criticised others who failed to support him despite his efforts to reach out after his recovery.
“I visited others but they didn’t even allow me to see them, not to talk of helping. I went to their houses and they told me they weren’t around — even though they were inside,” he said.
The heartfelt tribute has drawn widespread praise on social media, with fans commending Pasuma for his loyalty and generosity.
