Omah Lay says money could ease his depression, hints at healing-themed album

Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has said that money could help ease his battle with depression — at least temporarily.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, the ‘Soso’ hitmaker wrote, “10M in pounds or dollars right now will heal me for at least a month,” suggesting that financial comfort could bring some short-term relief from his ongoing mental health struggles.
Omah Lay has been candid about his battle with chronic depression, previously revealing that it nearly cost him his life. His upcoming sophomore album, Clarity of Mind, is expected to explore his journey toward healing and emotional recovery.
The singer’s debut album, Boy Alone, released on July 15, 2022, featured deeply personal tracks that reflected his mental state at the time. Just days later, on July 18, 2022, he made headlines after disclosing that his condition worsened following an intimate relationship with his therapist.
Fans have praised Omah Lay for his vulnerability and openness in addressing mental health — a topic still considered taboo in many parts of Nigerian society.
