Real Madrid given just 4% chance to reach semi-finals after Arsenal thrashing

On Wednesday, April 9, following their heavy 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, Real Madrid’s chances of advancing to the semi-finals have dropped to a mere 4%, according to Opta Analyst.

The defending champions were outclassed by the Gunners at the Emirates on Tuesday night, with Declan Rice scoring two sensational free-kicks and Mikel Merino adding a brilliant finish to seal the victory. Arsenal now head into the second leg with a commanding lead, and Opta gives them an overwhelming 96% chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.

This result marks a significant turning point for Arsenal, who have not reached the Champions League semi-finals since 2009 when they were knocked out by Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan, who secured a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in their first-leg quarter-final, are given an 82.4% chance of making it to the last four.

Arsenal will now travel to the Bernabeu, confident of advancing and continuing their pursuit of European glory.
