Burna Boy responds to backlash over proposed free concert in Burkina Faso

Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy has addressed the criticism surrounding his recent proposal to host a free concert in Burkina Faso, following reports that the initiative was mocked and allegedly rejected by the country’s president.
In a post shared via his Instagram Story, the Grammy-winning artist defended his intentions, stating that his motivation was based on principle rather than personal gain.
“I have nothing to gain from anybody. I don’t owe anyone anything, but that never stopped me from doing the great work I do,” Burna Boy wrote.
He expressed disappointment at the wave of negative and offensive reactions from some individuals online, saying he was shocked by the backlash.
“My integrity is unquestionable. Therefore burn in hell if you said anything negative,” he added, taking a firm stance against his critics.
Burna Boy’s proposed free concert had initially sparked excitement among fans in the region, but quickly drew online ridicule from detractors who questioned his motives and claimed he had been snubbed by Burkina Faso’s leadership.
