Manchester City eyes Wolves’ Ait-Nouri, other Premier League talents in busy transfer window

Pep Guardiola is gearing up for another aggressive transfer window after a quiet summer last year. Following a costly January spree where Manchester City invested £180 million in Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis to turn around a trophyless season, the former champions are now focused on strengthening their squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
According to The Athletic, Wolves’ left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri has emerged as City’s primary target to reinforce the left-back position. Although no transfer fee has been finalized, all parties involved expect the deal to go through soon.
City are also targeting Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest, as Guardiola plans for life without Kevin De Bruyne, who is believed to have played his final game for the club.
Looking elsewhere in the Premier League, City are pursuing Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento to replace outgoing veteran Kyle Walker, who recently ended a short loan spell at AC Milan and is unlikely to return to the Etihad. However, negotiating with Newcastle for Livramento could be a tough challenge.
With third place finish and zero trophies last season fueling urgency, Guardiola’s strategy to scout rising Premier League talents signals City’s determination to reclaim their dominance domestically and in Europe.
