APC leaders arrive in Akure for Ondo governorship election rally
Big leaders from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have arrived in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, to support the party’s candidate in the upcoming governorship election.
Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, and Philip Shaibu, the former deputy governor of Edo State, are all in Akure for the final campaign rally before Saturday’s election.
Gboyega Akosile, the media aide to Governor Sanwo-Olu, shared the news on social media, saying, “Governors Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun, Oyebanji, Shaibu, and other APC leaders have arrived in Akure for the party’s big rally ahead of Saturday’s election.”
Ondo’s current governor and APC candidate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, will compete against other candidates to keep his job. Aiyedatiwa became governor after the death of his predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, in 2023.
Meanwhile, Atiku Abubakar, who was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2023 presidential election, has warned against any unfair practices during Saturday’s election. He said the PDP would not allow any election cheating or malpractice.
