Paris 2024 Olympics: Waldrum confident of Super Falcons victory, qualifying
Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum remains optimistic about his team’s chances of reaching the quarter-finals at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Super Falcons faced a narrow 1-0 defeat to world champions Spain in Nantes on Sunday, marking their second loss in Group C after a similar 1-0 setback against Brazil last Thursday.
With their final group match against Japan approaching on Wednesday, Waldrum believes his team can secure a spot in the last eight.
“The way the matches have unfolded, we still need a win against Japan to advance. Whether we lose or draw, we still have a chance,” Waldrum stated.
He added, “If we manage to beat Japan, our chances will depend on the outcomes in Canada’s group, since they currently have six points.”
