Nasarawa Governor fires Special Advisers and aides for poor performance

On Friday, February 7, 2025, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State announced the dismissal of all Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, and Personal Assistants from his administration. He explained that their performance had not met expectations in implementing government policies and programs.
The announcement came during a ceremony where Barrister Labaran Shuaibu Magaji was sworn in as the new Secretary to the State Government. Commodore Yahaya Owuna (rtd.) was also sworn in as the sole administrator of Udege Administrative Area, and members of the College of Education Board, Akwanga, took their oaths at the event.
Governor Sule explained that these changes were part of his efforts to improve governance and service delivery in Nasarawa State. The dismissed aides were let go immediately, but the governor acknowledged their past contributions and thanked them for their service, encouraging them to keep supporting the state’s progress.
