Popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has sparked a fresh round of social media debate with his latest advice to men on marriage and relationships. In a post shared on Wednesday, the actor emphasized that respect is a non-negotiable entitlement for every man in a home.
He urged men to stop tolerating what he described as “nonsense” in the name of preserving a marriage or relationship. According to him, the moment a partner shows signs of disrespect, the man should immediately end the union.
Disrespect as a ground for ending marriages
Edochie encouraged men to prioritize their peace of mind by seeking partners who value and respect them. He noted that staying in an environment where a woman does not show regard for her partner is a disservice to the man.
“If your wife or girlfriend doesn’t respect you, dump her immediately and get someone who respects you,” he stated in his post on X. This bold claim has since gone viral, with many fans linking the advice to his own personal life.
Reactions follow actor’s estranged marriage history
The cryptic post has drawn significant attention to the actor’s history with his estranged first wife, May Edochie. Many social media users recalled the 2022 announcement where Yul introduced actress Judy Austin as his second wife.
Following that announcement, May Edochie filed for divorce and accused the actor of bigamy and adultery. She is also currently demanding ₦100 million in damages from Judy Austin as the legal battle over their marriage continues.
