Wrestling legend and Hollywood star Hulk Hogan dies at 71

Professional wrestling icon and movie star Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71.

Hogan, born Terry Gene Bollea, passed away at his home in Clearwater, Florida, in the early hours of Thursday, July 24, 2025. His death was reportedly the result of cardiac arrest.

TMZ Sports broke the news, with several emergency vehicles seen outside the wrestling legend’s residence. Hogan’s wife, Sky, had recently dismissed rumours of serious illness, insisting that his heart was strong following recent surgeries. Sadly, those reassurances were followed by Thursday’s tragic confirmation.

A towering figure in sports entertainment, Hogan became a global phenomenon during the 1980s and 1990s as one of WWE’s most recognisable superstars. Known for his charisma, signature handlebar mustache, and catchphrase “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?”, Hogan helped transform wrestling into a mainstream spectacle.

Beyond the ring, he starred in films such as Rocky III, No Holds Barred, and Gremlins 2: The New Batch, cementing his place in pop culture history.

Tributes have poured in from across the wrestling world and entertainment industry, with fans and colleagues mourning the loss of a larger-than-life figure who defined an era.

Hogan is survived by his wife and children. Funeral arrangements have yet to be publicly announced
