Media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, has expressed concern over legendary singer 2Face Idibia’s recent public apology following his controversial statement that men aren’t built to be sexually committed to one woman.
2Face had issued a remorseful statement online after his comment sparked backlash. But in a video shared via his TikTok page, Daddy Freeze described the apology as “too much” and suggested that the singer’s actions no longer reflect the person fans once admired.
“2Baba, what is this? What do you want to turn 2Baba to for us? Do2dtun was right, we don’t like this 2Face that we are seeing. E be like say Jebeto don dey control Pinopi o!”
While sarcastically referring to an unnamed individual as “Jebeto”, Daddy Freeze hinted that someone might be controlling or influencing 2Face’s behavior and public image.
He added that despite efforts to address the matter privately, including attempts to meet with the singer on three occasions, 2Face allegedly failed to show up. As a result, he said he had no choice but to speak publicly.
“Some people will say why didn’t I reach 2Face privately… we’ve tried to convene a meeting with him three times and he refused to show up. So, I cannot watch somebody I know and love continue to depreciate like this and keep quiet.”
Daddy Freeze, who referred to 2Face as a legend, argued that a simple one-line apology would have been more fitting.
“You said something that didn’t make sense, apologise—you have legend status, a one-line apology. Which one is, ‘I fk up, I fk up’? You are not a child, 2Baba.”
He ended the message with a plea:
“And please, I want to use this as an opportunity to beg—Jebeto, please, help us leave Pinopi o! Allegedly.”
Daddy Freeze’s reaction reflects growing fan discomfort with 2Face’s public persona in recent times, especially amid controversies around his private life and public statements.
