Nunez, Vinicius Jr, Messi, others pay tribute to Diogo Jota following his tragic death

Several football stars have taken to their social media pages to mourn the passing of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident in Spain early on Thursday, July 3.

Jota and his brother, André Silva, lost their lives in the tragic crash that shocked the football community worldwide.

Liverpool midfielder Mac Allister shared a heartfelt message on Instagram:

“I can’t believe it. I will always remember your smiles, your anger, your intelligence, your companionship, and everything that made you as a person. It hurts a lot, we are going to miss you.
Rest in peace, dear Diogo.”

Lionel Messi, captain of Inter Miami, posted on his Instagram story simply:

“Rest in peace,” accompanied by a picture of Jota.

Real Madrid’s Vinicius also paid tribute, writing on Instagram:

“Rest in peace Diogo and your brother André Silva. Much strength to the whole family!!”

Former Liverpool star Sadio Mané shared a brief but poignant message with a rest-in-peace emoji and a sad face emoji.

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe expressed his condolences on Instagram:

“Deepest condolences, support and thoughts are with those involved, their family and loved ones. Rest in peace Diogo and Andre.”

Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez added:
