Venezuelan VP demands proof of life for Maduro after US claims of capture

Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez on Saturday demanded that the United States provide “proof of life” forollowing claims by former US President Donald Trump that Maduro had been captured by US forces.
Speaking by telephone to Venezuelan television, Rodriguez said she did not know the whereabouts of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, after a series of reported US strikes on Caracas and other cities.
Trump had asserted that Maduro and Flores were taken by US forces and flown out of Venezuela, sparking confusion and escalating tensions between the two nations.
Rodriguez’s call for verification underscores the uncertainty surrounding the situation and comes amid conflicting reports about the status of Venezuela’s leadership.
