Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has signed a new contract with the club till June 2026.
Arsenal confirmed this in a post on X on Wednesday, March 20.
“Dedication. Determination. Tomiyasu ✍️,” the post simply said, with a video clip of Tomiyasu attached.
Tomiyasu signed for Arsenal in August 2021 on a three-year deal. This means that his deal was originally supposed to run till June 2024, but he has now extended his contract for another two years, keeping him at the club till 2026.
Tomiyasu has been a backup for the Gunners, and the club is not ready to lose him, hence the contract extension.
Speaking on the new deal, Tomiyasu said “It’s a dream to play for this club”.
Arsenal fans are fond of the Japan international, so the fan base will be happy with this news.
