Tinubu is disconnected from reality says Baba-Ahmed

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, a former special adviser to Vice-President Kashim Shettima, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu does not understand the struggles of Nigerians. He criticized the president’s recent suggestion that critics of the administration simply need “prescription glasses” to see development.

Baba-Ahmed argued that such remarks show a lack of empathy for the economic and security challenges facing the nation. He insisted that the current administration is failing to account for the funds it receives while poverty levels soar.

Economic reforms fail to improve living conditions

The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) noted that the government’s reforms look good on paper but fail in practice. He stated that Nigerians are currently more insecure, hungry, and desperate than in previous years.

“There is no way you can live in this country and still say that Nigerians should applaud your performance,” Baba-Ahmed said. He emphasized that the disconnect between official government perception and public sentiment is growing wider every day.

Opposition confident of defeating APC in 2027

Baba-Ahmed expressed strong confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) can be defeated in a free and fair election. He believes the president’s “fantastic” view of his own administration will be his undoing at the polls.

He challenged the administration to allow a transparent electoral process to see if the public truly supports their policies. According to him, an administration that ignores its own failings cannot expect to maintain the trust of the electorate.
