The Devil Wears Prada’ sequel confirmed, Meryl Streep and original cast to return

Nearly two decades after the original dazzled audiences, a sequel to the 2006 hit film The Devil Wears Prada is officially in development and it’s reuniting its all-star cast.

Meryl Streep will reprise her iconic role as Miranda Priestly, with Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci also returning to their beloved characters. The original film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling novel, became a cultural phenomenon, celebrated for its biting wit, fashion-forward aesthetic, and unforgettable performances.

In a fresh twist, Oscar-winning actor and director Sir Kenneth Branagh has joined the cast as Miranda’s husband — a previously unseen character whose presence is expected to shake up the high-stakes fashion world the franchise is known for.

While plot details are still under wraps, the reunion of the original ensemble has sparked major buzz, with fans and industry insiders alike eager to see what direction the sequel will take.

The original film, directed by David Frankel, grossed over $326 million worldwide and earned Streep a Golden Globe for her performance. It remains one of the most influential fashion films of the 21st century.

No official release date has been announced, but production is expected to begin in the coming months.
