Terry G claims indelible impact on Nigerian music scene

Singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has asserted that he made an indelible impact on the Nigerian music industry.
The Akpoko Master, who spearheaded the ‘Street-hop’ movement—a ghetto-leaning music genre in the 2010s—claimed it is impossible to discuss cultural impact in Nigerian music without mentioning his name.
He made the statement on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, via social media amid ongoing debates about influence and legacies in the industry, sparked by the recent rap feud between Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez.
On his X (formerly Twitter) handle, he wrote, “You can’t talk about cultural impact in Nigeria without talking about Terry G. I am the culture!”
