Jigawa declares Friday work-free day for Islamic New Year

The Jigawa State Government has declared Friday, June 27, a work-free day in observance of the Islamic New Year, 1447 AH.
This was announced in a statement signed by the State Head of the Civil Service, Muhammad K. Dagaceri, and released by his spokesperson, Isma’il Ibrahim.
Dagaceri stated that the holiday is intended to give workers and the wider community the opportunity to participate in the celebrations marking the beginning of the new Islamic calendar year.
He also encouraged all workers and residents of Jigawa State to use the occasion to pray for continued peace and prosperity across the state.
The government further urged citizens to reflect on and uphold the teachings of Islam and the exemplary life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), emphasizing the importance of remaining law-abiding and promoting harmony throughout the state.
