Sterling dropped from Chelsea squad, among 9 penned for summer exit

Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has reportedly been included in the club’s so-called “bomb squad”—a group of nine players who are out of favour and expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Sterling, who spent last season on loan at Arsenal, did not make the 31-man first-team squad list published on Chelsea’s official website for the 2025/2026 season.

Other excluded players:
-
Ben Chilwell
-
Axel Disasi
-
Renato Veiga
-
Alfie Gilchrist
-
Carney Chukwuemeka
-
Lesley Ugochukwu
-
Armando Broja
-
David Datro Fofana
What’s next for the Chelsea winger?
Sterling, 30, has been linked with multiple clubs since returning from Arsenal, and Chelsea are expected to push for a permanent transfer as they streamline their squad under manager Enzo Maresca.
The club recently confirmed several new signings, including Jorrel Hato from Ajax, and appears to be undergoing a major reshuffle as they prepare for the new season.
Players left out of the main squad are expected to train separately or seek moves before the window closes.
