APC says it’s ready to welcome Governor Fubara
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it would be glad to have Governor Siminalayi Fubara join its ranks.
Darlington Nwauju, the reinstated Rivers APC spokesman, made the comments on Tuesday during a guest appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief.
“Governor Fubara should join APC,” says party spokesman
Nwauju urged Fubara to consider defecting to the APC once he returns on Thursday.
“If I were the governor, I would announce my defection to the All Progressives Congress on my return,” he said.
“We would gladly receive the governor into our party.”
Fubara would become APC leader in Rivers
The spokesman added that if Fubara joins APC, by party convention, he would automatically become the party’s leader in Rivers State.
No call for probe of Administrator Ibas
On the performance of Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (rtd), the APC in Rivers said it has not demanded any probe of the Administrator, who has overseen the state during the emergency rule period.
President Tinubu and Fubara expected back soon
President Bola Tinubu and the suspended Governor Fubara are expected back in Nigeria on Tuesday, ahead of Rivers State’s return to democratic governance on Thursday.
