Rema’s ‘Rave & Roses’ becomes longest-charting African album on Billboard

Nigerian singer Rema’s debut album, Rave & Roses, has set a new record as the longest-charting African album on the Billboard World Albums Chart, spending 170 weeks on the list.
The album broke the previous record of 164 weeks held by Wizkid’s Made In Lagos. Other notable long-running African albums on the chart include Tems’ Born In The Wild (79 weeks), Burna Boy’s Love, Damini (63 weeks), and Fela Kuti’s The Best of the Black President (45 weeks).
In addition, Rema earned his second Billboard Hot 100 entry this week as Secondhand, featuring Don Toliver, debuted at number 29. His compatriot Tems also entered the Hot 100 with her new song What You Need, bringing her total entries to seven a joint African record alongside Burna Boy and South African group Seether.
The achievement highlights Rema’s growing global influence and the rising presence of African artists on international music charts.
