Rainfall: CAN declares three-day fasting in Taraba state
Taraba State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria has declared three days of prayers and fasting for the state.
This move by the youth wing of the chapter was announced on Sunday due the persistent lack of rainfall in the state.
The lack of rainfall has impacted negatively on farm crops and some have begun to wither.
Worried by the development, the leadership of the youth CAN, in a press statement made available to journalists, urged all Christian youths spread across the state to participate in the spiritual exercise slated to commence on Monday.
In the statement signed by its state chairman, Ephesian Jesse, the group said the exercise became necessary in order to right the wrongs that must have been committed by the people.
“Let us come out and pray for the release of rainfall. It is no longer news that our crops are already drying up due to lack of rainfall. Let’s cry unto God for divine intervention
“Let us pray for churches that are currently having challenges, let us pray for divine intervention knowing fully that nothing is impossible with God.
“Let us also pray for governor Agbu Kefas and his family, that the Lord will guide over their steps, protect them and grant them good health as they discharge their duties to the glory of the Lord,” the statement read.
