Victor Osimhen won’t be on the pitch when Galatasaray kick off their Turkish Super Lig campaign against Gaziantep this Friday.
The Nigerian striker, who just made his move to Galatasaray permanent last week, was left out of the travelling squad announced on Thursday. Club sources say the 26-year-old is still building fitness after a delayed return to pre-season training.
Record-breaking season, but not quite match-ready
Osimhen is coming off a monster loan season where he racked up 37 goals and 8 assists in just 41 appearances — making him the highest-scoring foreign player in a single Turkish Super Lig campaign.
Despite the impressive numbers, fans will have to wait a bit longer to see him in competitive action this season.
