NUPENG celebrates the start of Dangote refinery as a huge success
The Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has praised the opening of the Dangote refinery, which will start producing petrol, also known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). They believe this is a big step forward for Nigeria’s energy independence and economic growth.
On Tuesday, September 3, NUPENG shared their excitement about the new job opportunities and positive changes this development will bring to Nigeria. They sent a congratulatory letter to Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Dangote Group. The letter was written by NUPENG’s General Secretary, Afolabi Olawale.
NUPENG expressed their joy and said, “The leadership and entire members of NUPENG celebrate and congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, and everyone at Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company for starting the production of gasoline, also known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).”
They continued, “This has been eagerly awaited not only by Nigerians but by the entire continent of Africa. We are very proud of you, Alhaji Aliko Dangote. You have shown great courage and determination by achieving something that no one else has done before.”
The letter also noted, “This achievement at the world’s largest single-train petroleum refinery and petrochemical plant shows your strong commitment, creativity, and excellence in the energy sector.”
NUPENG acknowledged the hard work that went into making this dream come true and mentioned, “The successful production of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) is a significant milestone for Dangote Refinery and a major step forward for Nigeria’s energy independence and economic growth.”
They added, “Alhaji Aliko Dangote, your visionary leadership and tireless efforts have played a key role in this success. Your work is making a big difference in Africa’s industrial and economic development.”
NUPENG also expressed their excitement about the new job opportunities and the positive effects on the country’s growth. They said, “As a union focused on improving the lives of workers in the petroleum and natural gas industry, we are eager to see the benefits of this development.”
They also acknowledged that there may be challenges but pledged their support, saying, “We are aware of the challenges and opposition but will use all our resources to support this incredible achievement.”
NUPENG looks forward to working with Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Company to help the oil and gas industry grow and succeed. They concluded, “Congratulations on this historic achievement. We wish you continued success in all your future projects.”
The letter ended with, “Our support remains strong.”
