NNPCL drills four oil wells in Bauchi, pledges further development in the north

Mr. Yusuf Usman, a Director at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL), has revealed that the company has successfully drilled four oil wells in the Kolmani area of Bauchi State.

Usman made this known on Wednesday during the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation’s two-day interactive session on government-citizen engagement held in Kaduna.

He reaffirmed NNPCL’s commitment to exploring and developing oil and gas resources in northern Nigeria, noting that the company is currently evaluating the appropriate technology to be deployed for the next phase of drilling operations in the region.

“In support of President Tinubu’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative, five CNG and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants are under construction in Kogi,” Usman added.

He explained that the new plants are expected to improve gas supply and accessibility across the northern region, while also highlighting the broader achievements of NNPCL under the current administration.
