Nigerian-Saudi Investment and Tourism Exhibition opens in Abuja under Vice President Shettima’s patronage

The Nigerian Saudi Investment and Tourism Exhibition 2026 opened in the Nigerian capital this week under the patronage of Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, bringing together investors, government officials and business leaders from both countries.
The two-day event, held on 4–5 August 2026 at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, aims to deepen economic, trade, investment and tourism cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Organisers — Al Yaro International Company, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) and Almanafiea Mutual Benefits — described the exhibition as a strategic platform designed to open new markets, facilitate business-to-business meetings and promote shared prosperity.
Focus on key growth sectors
The exhibition covers a wide range of priority sectors, including:
- Investment and real estate development
- Hajj, Umrah and tourism
- Food and agriculture
- Industry and manufacturing
- Energy
- Technology and telecommunications
- Logistics and transport
- Healthcare, education, banking and e-commerce
Nigeria is being positioned as Africa’s largest economy and a gateway to the continent, with a population of more than 220 million and a rapidly expanding consumer market. Saudi Arabia is highlighted as a global investment hub driven by Vision 2030, offering opportunities in energy, infrastructure, food security, technology and religious tourism.
Building lasting partnerships
Organisers emphasised that the event goes beyond a traditional trade fair. It features direct B2B meetings, government participation, media coverage across Gulf and African markets, and opportunities to sign partnerships and trade agreements.
“This is more than an exhibition — it is a strategic platform to open new markets, build sustainable partnerships and drive shared growth between Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Africa,” the official brochure states.
The gathering is expected to attract businessmen, investors, government entities, chambers of commerce, large corporations, importers, Hajj and Umrah operators, financial institutions, technology firms and media from both countries and the wider region.
The Nigerian Saudi Investment and Tourism Exhibition forms part of ongoing efforts to expand bilateral economic ties and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s engagement with Africa’s largest market.
