New ID fees kick in as NIMC updates prices for the first time in 10 years

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced that it is updating the prices for its products and services after a decade of no changes. The new pricing took effect immediately following a public statement made on Thursday, May 1.

According to Kayode Adegoke, the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, the price review was necessary to keep up with rising operational costs and to stay in line with industry standards.

The Commission said the updated prices will help maintain the quality and integrity of services like National Identification Number (NIN) registration, card replacement, and other ID-related tasks. At the same time, NIMC promises to keep things affordable and accessible for all Nigerians.

To prevent misuse, NIMC has warned all Front-End Partners (FEPs)—private agents who help deliver ID services—to strictly follow the new prices. Any partner that charges more than the approved rates could lose their license.

NIMC also encouraged the public to report any overcharging by emailing ieu@nimc.gov.ng or calling 08155015388.
