Marco van Basten criticizes Erik ten Hag’s decision-making
AC Milan legend Marco van Basten has sharply criticized Erik ten Hag’s recent transfer decisions at Manchester United, questioning the effectiveness of his signings.
Van Basten argued that many of Ten Hag’s recent acquisitions have underperformed since joining the club. He expressed his dissatisfaction with the transfers, describing them as poor.
In a statement quoted by The AFC Ajax on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, September 2, Van Basten remarked:
“The purchases from Erik ten Hag are downright bad. I don’t know if it’s his fault or Manchester United’s fault, but he did play a role. Look at the number of players he wanted at his club who didn’t deliver. That’s just bad!”
