Manchester United agrees deal to sign PSG’s Ugarte

Manchester United has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the transfer of Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte. The deal, valued at €50 million (£42.29 million), also includes potential add-ons up to €10 million (£8.46 million).

The completion of this transfer is contingent upon the movement of Scott McTominay, who Manchester United is looking to offload to Italian club Napoli. Erik ten Hag has reportedly given his approval for McTominay’s sale, as he does not foresee the Scottish midfielder as a guaranteed starter in his midfield setup.

Ugarte’s transfer will also involve a 10% sell-on clause for PSG. The Uruguayan, who joined PSG last year, has made 37 appearances and won a French Ligue 1 title during his time with the French giants.

Scott McTominay, a product of Manchester United’s youth academy, has been with the club since he was a child and has scored 19 goals in 178 appearances. His departure would make way for Ugarte, who has been a target for Manchester United since the start of the window.
