Liverpool secures Jeremie Frimpong to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold in €35m transfer
On Friday, May 30, Liverpool moved swiftly to fill the void left by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure by signing Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal has been “signed and sealed,” with Liverpool set to officially announce the acquisition of the 24-year-old Dutch international imminently.
Romano tweeted, “Jeremie Frimpong deal, all signed and sealed with official announcement now imminent. Liverpool have their new right back for €35m.”
Frimpong’s arrival follows Alexander-Arnold’s high-profile free transfer to Real Madrid, which was officially announced by the Spanish giants earlier on the same day.
Alexander-Arnold, who spent his entire professional career at Liverpool, joined Xabi Alonso’s squad on a six-year contract, marking the end of an era at Anfield and the beginning of a new chapter for both clubs.
