Kizz Daniel reclaims masters of debut album ‘New Era’ and hit singles from former label
Afrobeats star Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has successfully retrieved the masters of his debut album, New Era, along with the masters of his hit singles Yeba and Sofa from his former record label, G-Worldwide.
The singer shared the exciting news on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, expressing how meaningful the achievement is to him.
He wrote, “From long nights in the studio to several meditations, finally, I now own every song on the ‘New Era album’ 2016 + Yeba & Sofa (singles). I got my masters back. This means more than words can explain. Thank you for riding with me. #NewEra #MyCatalog #Grateful.”
Kizz Daniel released New Era on May 14, 2016, under G-Worldwide. In November 2017, he parted ways with the label and founded his own imprint, Flyboy I.N.C. His split sparked legal action from his former label boss, Emperor Geezy, but Kizz Daniel was eventually acquitted of all charges.
In a surprising turn in 2023, Kizz Daniel appointed Emperor Geezy as the new CEO of Flyboy I.N.C., marking a new chapter in their professional relationship.
