APC pledges full support for Akwa Ibom governor Umo Eno after defection

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has pledged its full support and cooperation for Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Victor Giadom, the APC National Vice-Chairman (South-South), gave this assurance in a statement on Monday as he welcomed Governor Eno and other PDP members who recently joined the party.

Giadom described Governor Eno’s decision to join the APC as both timely and strategic, highlighting that it would enhance synergy with the Federal Government and open up more social and economic opportunities to accelerate the development of Akwa Ibom State.

“President Bola Tinubu’s bold and unprecedented policy reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda have continued to resonate strongly with leaders and people across the South-South region,” Giadom said. “They are eager to work with Mr. President and our great party to fully realize this agenda for the progress of the region and the country.”

He also assured the governor and his supporters of a massive electoral victory in the South-South zone in the 2027 elections.
