Kebbi Government urges warm welcome for President Tinubu during state visit

The Kebbi State Government has called on residents to accord President Bola Tinubu a warm and rousing welcome during his state visit on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
The President is expected to commission several major projects executed by the administration of Governor Nasir Idris and attend the opening of the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated cultural events.
In a statement, Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed, through the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, said the visit will include the commissioning of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu State Secretariat Complex, the Birnin Kebbi Central Motor Park, newly constructed township road networks, and the Argungu dual carriageway. The President will then participate in festival activities.
Ahmed urged residents to cooperate and demonstrate Kebbi State’s renowned hospitality while hosting national and international dignitaries. He also cautioned that some roads in Birnin Kebbi and parts of Argungu would be temporarily closed to facilitate presidential movements, appealing to motorists and commuters to bear with the brief inconvenience.
With international visitors already arriving for the festival, the commissioner stressed that the conduct of residents would shape global perceptions of Kebbi State. He encouraged citizens to remain law-abiding, peaceful, welcoming, and courteous to project a positive image of the state.
