Injuries end season for Madrid stars Militao and Guler

Real Madrid’s hopes of catching Barcelona in the La Liga title race have suffered a major setback. The club confirmed on Thursday that defender Eder Militao and midfielder Arda Guler will miss the remainder of the season due to thigh injuries.

Militao is dealing with a left thigh issue, while Guler sidelined with a right thigh problem. Both players are expected to be out of action for several weeks, leaving the squad depleted for the final run of matches.

Real Madrid to miss key stars for the Clasico

The injuries mean both players will be absent for the highly anticipated Clasico against Barcelona on May 10. With only six matches left in the season, manager Carlo Ancelotti will have to find reliable replacements to fill the void.

Real Madrid currently trails Barcelona by nine points, making every remaining fixture a “must-win” situation. These absences make the uphill battle for the domestic title even more difficult for the Merengues.

Focus shifts to World Cup fitness for both players

Despite the club-level disappointment, medical experts do not expect the injuries to affect the players’ World Cup participation. The global tournament is set to begin on June 11 and will be hosted across North America.

Fans are hopeful that both Militao and Guler will undergo successful rehabilitation during the off-season. For now, the club must focus on securing its position in the league standings without the services of the two stars.
