The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has fixed April 30 as the final deadline for the revalidation and registration of its members. National Publicity Secretary Ejimofor Opara announced the directive in Awka on Thursday.
The exercise aims to prepare the party for the 2027 general elections by ensuring a credible internal structure. This deadline applies to both long-standing members and new individuals intending to join the party nationwide.
Compliance with the Electoral Act 2026
The party emphasized that the digital registration exercise is mandatory under Section 77(5) of the Electoral Act 2026. This law requires political parties to submit a comprehensive digital register of their members to INEC.
Ejimofor Opara explained that only those captured in this digital database will be eligible for future party activities. Failure to register before the deadline will automatically disqualify individuals from participating in primaries.
No extension for the registration exercise
APGA urged all aspirants and interested citizens to visit the official party website to complete their registration immediately. The leadership made it clear that no extension will be granted once the April 30 window closes.
“Strict compliance is necessary to ensure we meet the legal requirements set by INEC,” the spokesman stated. The party hopes this move will bring transparency to its delegate and primary election processes.
