FCT residents commend Wike for remarkable leadership and development strides

Residents praise Wike’s impact on Abuja’s transformation
Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have expressed overwhelming support for the Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, commending what they described as his remarkable leadership and unprecedented developmental strides since assuming office.
The commendation came from a civic group known as the Cabul Network, which represents citizens living across the various area councils and districts of the FCT. In a formal letter of appreciation jointly signed by Chijioke Nwachukwu, Director General of the network, and Matthew Eguche, its Secretary, the group praised the minister’s achievements in transforming the capital city’s infrastructure and urban management.
Group highlights major infrastructural renewal in the FCT
According to the Cabul Network, the level of infrastructural renewal currently being witnessed in the nation’s capital is unprecedented. The group stated that since Wike took charge of the FCT Administration, residents have experienced a visible change in the quality of roads, housing, and public services.
“It is with great joy that we, the residents of the FCT, state that never before have we experienced such a marked improvement in the quality of infrastructure and developmental initiatives in the Territory,” the statement read.
The group pointed to notable progress in the expansion of road networks, rehabilitation of area council roads, and construction of key public facilities designed to ease housing challenges and improve mobility within Abuja.
Roads, housing, and transport get priority attention
The Cabul Network particularly praised the minister’s decision to prioritize infrastructure that directly impacts residents’ daily lives. Several major roads in the Abuja metropolis and satellite towns have been rehabilitated or expanded to address congestion and improve accessibility.
They also commended the ongoing construction of railway stations and transport corridors, describing them as vital steps toward boosting economic activity and enhancing connectivity within the capital and surrounding communities.
“Every area of infrastructure is receiving due attention simultaneously, and this holistic approach is a clear testimony of your dedication and effective leadership,” the letter added.
Support for Wike’s leadership and call for focus
The residents further urged Wike not to be discouraged by criticisms or political distractions, noting that meaningful progress often attracts dissenting voices. They emphasized that his performance had already begun to restore public confidence in the FCT Administration.
“We strongly condemn the voices of dissent and naysayers, and urge you not to be distracted by them. We are confident that with the unwavering support of Mr President, the Federal Capital Territory, under your leadership, will continue to reach new heights of development,” the statement said.
Commitment to sustainable development and collaboration
The Cabul Network reaffirmed its full support and loyalty to the minister, pledging to partner with the administration in realizing its broader vision of making Abuja a model of sustainable urban development. The group noted that Wike’s efforts align with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasizes economic growth, infrastructure renewal, and social inclusion.
They also encouraged greater collaboration between the FCT Administration and residents to ensure that development projects are maintained and sustainable. “The residents stand ready to support the government’s initiatives that aim to make Abuja not only a symbol of national pride but also a beacon of modern urban management,” the group concluded.
Wike’s focus on accountability and efficiency
Since taking office, Minister Nyesom Wike has repeatedly stressed his commitment to transparency, accountability, and results-driven governance in the FCT. Under his leadership, the administration has embarked on several city renewal projects, improved waste management, and taken steps to address urban planning challenges in both the city center and surrounding satellite towns.
Analysts note that the show of support from the Cabul Network reflects growing public recognition of Wike’s development agenda and could further strengthen his policy initiatives aimed at enhancing Abuja’s infrastructure and livability.
