Speaking during a press briefing in Beijing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning highlighted China’s commitment to Nigeria as a strategic partner. She stated that the Asian nation stands firmly behind Nigeria’s efforts to chart its own course of development based on its unique national realities.
“As Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly supports the Nigerian government in leading its people on the development path suited to its national conditions,” Mao said. “China strongly opposes any country using religion or human rights as a pretext to meddle in the internal affairs of sovereign states.”
