FC Barcelona set to secure RB Leipzig midfielder at last
FC Barcelona is now in the final stages of completing the signing of RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Dani Olmo after many days of negotiations, according to football transfer expert and journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 26-year-old midfielder joined Leipzig in 2020, and established himself as a first-team starter relatively quickly.
Olmo played a key role en route to Luis De La Fuente’s Spain winning the 2024 European Championship.
According to Romano, Barcelona will pay €55m plus €7m in add-ons, and Olmo will sign a six-year deal, keeping him with the Catalan giants till 2030.
Olmo enjoyed a successful 2023/24 season with Leipzig, scoring four league goals, and providing five assists.
He will be the sixth signing for Hansi Flick’s Barca this transfer window, as the five-time Champions League winners look to strengthen the squad in preparation to battle Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid for the LaLiga title.
