England loses to Brazil in friendly

England took on Brazil and lost in their first international friendly of the break on Saturday, March 23.

The England team was noticeably missing their captain Harry Kane, who got injured playing for his club Bayern Munich. It also was missing popular face Raheem Sterling, who did not get a call-up at all.

However, Southgate had other superstars to choose from, starting Manchester City’s Phil Foden, Kyle Walker, and John Stones. He also started Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.

The Brazil team had Real Madrid superstars Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, as well as Newcastle kingpin Bruno Guimaraes.

The game was decided by a goal by substitute Endrick, who came on for Rodrygo in the 71st minute. The youngster scored in the 80th minute.

Brazil should have won by more, as they created seven clear cut chances, compared to England’s one, even though both teams took 14 shots each.

England is ranked third in the world, with Brazil ranked fifth.
